Saudi Aramco has instituted a series of proactive industrial hygiene programs that not only protect the well-being of its workforce, but also boost productivity.
The company performs routine Occupational Health Hazard Assessments of its facilities to identify and mitigate health and safety risks. These assessments verify that standards are met for employee exposure to chemical, physical and biological agents such as noise, dust, fumes, vibration, asbestos and radioactive material.
Saudi Aramco has a comprehensive Hazardous Materials Communications Program with chemical risk assessments, hazard information, labeling requirements and training on the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
In order to further protect workers, Saudi Aramco has well-established programs covering hearing conservation, ergonomics, illumination and personal protective equipment. The company regularly performs monitoring, sampling and evaluations to ensure compliance with established guidelines.
